When Ashtyn began planning her graduation photos, she was worried about finding LGBTQ+ friendly photography in Lynchburg, Va., especially for a photoshoot partly at Liberty University, where she graduated from. But once she found Erika at Joy Shots Photography, her worries were soon gone!

Ashtyn chose three locations for her LGBTQ+ graduation photos in Lynchburg, with each location having a special purpose. From the academic building she took most of her classes in, to her safe place of downtown Lynchburg, and even a scenic mountain overlook, she chose places that had meaning and importance to her.
Many of the photos included her dog and her girlfriend, and although Ashtyn had a hard time picking just one favorite photo, she said the pictures with her girlfriend “hold very special memories.”
Nerves: Any Worries Before the Session?
Ashtyn said she was worried about how she would look, feeling comfortable with the photographer, doing graduation photos at Liberty University, and so much more. Luckily, Erika helped with the nerves.

Ashtyn said if she could give advice to the next person who schedules a LGBTQ+ graduation photos in Lynchburg, it would be: “Get comfy and have fun!”
“Trust Erika, and let yourself get comfortable,” she said. “Don’t stress over posing or how you smile or anything. Erika has done lots of sessions and knows how to make you look good.”
