As Erika pushes forward towards her goal of shooting a wedding in every state by 2030, she remembers fondly Andrew and Tabitha Hornbrook’s wedding in Michigan.Though the event was far from her home in Virginia, Erika’s discounted wedding photography for long distance weddings – along with being Andrew’s cousin – made her an easy pick for the couple’s special day.
A Love Story to Remember
Andrew and Tabitha were married in front of the sentimental backdrop of First Baptist Church in Farmington, Michigan.
“(The venue) was meaningful because it’s where we met and got to know each other,” Tabitha said. “If either one of us hadn’t started going to the church, our paths probably never would have crossed.”
They said their favorite memory of the day was when they partook in corporate singing with their guests.
“During this time, Andrew and I were up on stage at the front of the church, holding hands, and facing all of our guests,” Tabitha said. “This was the most emotional moment for me because I got to look around at the faces of all the people that mean the most to me and just revel in the pure joy of that moment. I highly recommend taking a moment during your wedding ceremony to look out at all your guests, feel the love, and just soak it all in!”
Discounted Wedding Photography in Michigan
As part of Andrew and Tabitha’s travel discount for wedding photography, Erika shot a meaningful first look before the wedding.
“I’m so glad that Andrew and I chose to do a first look because that makes the time between our wedding ceremony and reception very short,” Tabitha said. “That was important to us because our reception all together wasn’t very long, so by getting most pictures done earlier in the day, we maximized our time with our guests at the reception.”
Their first look was shot in front of beautiful greenery outside the church, making a natural but vibrant background for the moment.
Rather than hiring many vendors, the couple took advantage of the loved ones they had with varying areas of expertise.
“Wedding planning can be stressful and overwhelming but if you have people in your life that are willing to help, dividing up the jobs between people can make it feel much less daunting,” Tabitha said.
After the wedding, the couple also did a sunset photoshoot, which was included in their discounted wedding photography.
“Erika did an amazing job getting some beautiful pictures in the location we chose,” Tabitha added, noting Erika’s photography made her feel comfortable. “Those are some of the wedding pictures that I cherish the most now.”
