Three years ago, Erika had the pleasure of shooting Laura and Nick’s wedding. Even though years have passed, she always looks back on the day fondly and remembers it well.
When the couple started looking for Charlottesville wedding photography, they knew they wanted Erika after watching her work at a friend’s wedding. Her laid-back demeanor was exactly what they needed for their wedding photography at Omni Hotel, which is where they held both their ceremony and reception.
“Nick and I can be a bit awkward at times, so we knew we needed someone casual and relaxed,” Laura said.
Charlottesville Wedding Photography at the Omni Hotel
The couple had many reasons behind choosing the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville.
“I wanted to be inside because I didn’t want to sweat in the heat or worry about the weather. It was really important to us that everyone could be together,” Laura said. “We didn’t want to spend a lot of time traveling between locations, and we didn’t want to worry about people drinking and driving.”
Laura said doing their wedding reception and ceremony at the hotel worked out perfectly, and it limited many additional costs for travel, time, and figuring out transportation.
Erika loved doing Charlottesville wedding photography at Omni Hotel. One of her favorite parts of the wedding was their bubble send-off, though the couple ended up going back inside and dancing more after the send-off was over!
A Look to Remember
Laura and Nick had their couple photos taken prior to the ceremony, saving a lot of time between the ceremony and reception. Erika shot their first look, and the Charlottesville wedding photos perfectly captured the love between them!
Laura said her wedding was her favorite day of her life, and many of the day’s special moments were captured by Erika for lifelong memories.
“(Erika) was incredible and caught every moment,” Laura said. “We got a million compliments on her and how she was always available for a photo when needed.”

Even though it’s been a number of years since Nick and Laura’s wedding I always look back on it really fondly! I (maybe controversially) love hotel weddings. People party harder when they know it’s just an elevator ride to their room. No one gets all sweaty sitting in the sun for long periods of time. And there’s usually space to spread out a little so some guests can dance the night away while others can get away from the noise to have a quiet chat. Plus, I’m ridiculously fond of a bubble exit and Nick and Laura really did theirs justice!
