Morgan and Chandler’s Engagement Photos at Shenandoah National Park – Big Meadows

Many couples feel uneasy prior to photoshoots or worry they aren’t photogenic enough. Although Morgan and Chandler were nervous about their engagement photos at Shenandoah National Park – Big Meadows, Erika from Joy Shots Photography made it a memorable and fun experience.

Getting Comfortable

Engagement photos don’t need to be nerve-wracking if you have an experienced photographer to guide you.

“I was worried about looking awkward in my pictures because I’m not very photogenic. My fiancé was worried about his eyes being open because he is sensitive to light,” Morgan said.

To help Chandler’s light sensitivity, Erika faced the couple away from the sun throughout most of the shoot, which still resulted in bright, sun-kissed photos.

“Erika made us feel very comfortable and helped pose us in ways that felt natural and easy,” Morgan added. “She also helped us with more goofy prompting, but it made for really natural and effortless looking pictures!”

The Inspiration: Shenandoah National Park – Big Meadows

Morgan and Chandler didn’t decide on engagement photos at Big Meadows until they came across the location while googling national parks. After seeing some inspiration photos that showed the vibrant colors and green meadow scenery, they fell in love with the idea of doing a summer engagement shoot there.

The couple arrived in simplistic outfits, with Morgan switching between a white dress and white top from Hollister, along with Abercrombie jeans and white sandals from Target. Meanwhile, Chandler rocked two different shirts from Target with Old Navy jeans, pairing the styles with New Balance sneakers and Amazon dress shoes.

“Morgan and Chandler were so much fun to work with,” Erika said. “The simplicity of their outfits really made the bright, blue sky and vibrant meadows pop, and it makes these photos feel truly timeless!”

The photos Erika delivered didn’t disappoint, and it fulfilled the vision the couple had in mind. A few of their favorites were the photos of their fingertips touching and the black and white photos taken on a rock.

The couple’s advice for making your engagement photos at Shenandoah National Park a day to remember?  “Have fun!” they said.

“Bring any inspo pics with you in mind or on your phone,” Morgan added. “Trust your photographer when it comes to prompting to do silly things. Some of those prompts helped us get the best photos!”
